Gurupurnima Celebration
Gurupurnima is an ancient Indian celebration. It goes back to the time when the four Vedas were established as the foundation of the Indian tradition. The great sage Veda Vyasa, who compiled the Vedas, was also the one whose inspiration gave rise to this celebration of Gurupurnima — a celebration in honor of the Guru.
Join us Saturday, July 12th at 6:30 PM for a special dinner, followed at 7:30 PM by our Gurupurnima Celebration Program.
The Gurupurnima program will be also offered on Wednesday, July 16th at 7:30 PM.
Happy Birthday Gurumayi! June 24th is Gurumayi's birthday and this beautiful occasion offers us an opportunity to contemplate our beloved Guru and how blessed we are by her continued guidance and presence in our lives. As part of The Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Miami birthday celebration, Siddha Yoga students created a beautiful card filled with prayers and offered it to Gurumayi. The cover displayed the abundance and beauty of nature, using large tropical leaves, pods, orchid flowers and special moss coverings. Inside the card were pages of cotton paper with pressed flowers. Each student's prayer was displayed on an attached leaf. Our birthday card was displayed on a table in the Ashram with note stating that the Siddha Yoga students in Miami tuned into the quality of Dhanya Lakshmi.
To preserve this card, it was not to be opened. The theme for Gurumayi's birthday was Dhanya Lakshmi, which is the quality of abundance in nature, grains, food and beauty of plants, flowers, etc Her birthday cake had lotus flowers going up the tiers and wheat grass along the base. We were all with her in great love, connected together in our hearts!
